As we near the end of week 2 of the Alert Level 4 lockdown we
hope you are finding ways to get through the
position we are all in. At Trents, we have been working hard to
constantly cope with the changes each day is bringing.
During week 1 of lockdown we moved to only supplying customers
deemed as essential businesses at our Cash'n Carry branches and via
delivered orders. In order to manage stock levels of high demand
items and ensure customers who always used particular items for
their business or service could still get these, we followed our
own message of 'shop normally' and only supplied products customers
normally ordered from us to each customer.
Now demand is settling I am pleased to say we are able to
increase our supply level. As from Monday April 6thall
Trents customers will be able to shop in our Cash'n Carry branches.
If you are deemed a non-essential business, purchases are on a cash
basis using either a credit or debit card.
Please note -
- You will need to present your Trents customer card at the
- Only 1 shopper per customer card
- Some purchasing restrictions are still be in place, with
products that continue to be under pressure
- We are unable to sell any liquor (this includes 0% alcohol
products) to customers for personal use
- Tobacco is restricted to anyone that isn't a recognized tobacco
If you are coming into our branches please observe the physical
distancing rules expected in all shopping areas.

We are into Alert Level 4 and are continuing to adjust as needed
every day. We are making some changes to our business for the short
term that we'd like to make you aware of.
Trents are now only supplying product to customers deemed as
Essential Businesses that are allowed to be trading. This covers
orders placed for delivery and customers visiting our Cash'n Carry
branches. As from Monday the hours of opening for our Cash'n Carry
branches are reducing. The
new hours are
Nelson, Invercargill and
8am to 12noon Monday to Friday
8am to 2pm Monday to Friday
Closed Saturday (effective
from Saturday April 4th)
As from Monday we will be reducing the hours of operation for
our Customer Service Team. Outside of these hours you are still
able to place orders in the normal way - online, via email or leave
a voice message.
The new hours are
Monday to Friday 7am to
6am to 12noon
1pm to 7pm
Many of you will have received our Pricebuster and Liquorbuster
catalogue in the mail which is effective from March
30th to April 12th. Due to printing
dates this was printed prior the Government raising the Covid-19
Alert Levels. We apologise if this has caused any distress for you
and your staff if you have a business that has had to close.

critical care services, such as hospitals and rest homes. There is
a great deal of uncertainty around the definition of who can remain
open so we are working hard to ensure we can get orders out to
other sectors that have been identified as essential businesses and
are continuing to trade.
Pressure on stock and our supply chain continues however we are
working with suppliers to restock our distribution centres
continuously. Some deliveries to you may be late due to the volume
we are moving through so please bear with us if this happens. Our
Cash'n Carry branches remain open to help supply your

As a valued customer of Trents
we'd like to update you on our actions around the current COVID-19
situation. As our priority is to feed the South Island we can
assure you we have a strong plan in place that is being reviewed
We have implemented additional measures to ensure the safety of
our staff and you and your business. Whilst we already have high
food safety and hygiene practices throughout our business, we are
increasing these further in addition to following all Ministry of
Health guidelines. Additional cleaning measures are in place in our
Cash'n Carry branches.
Our supply chain, while under pressure, is coping exceedingly
well. Our focus is very much on ensuring our customers have the
essential products you need and we are working with suppliers to
make this happen. We have increased stock levels of key commodity
items along with cleaning products. We remind you to please shop as
you normally would to ensure there is enough for everyone.
Our Sales Representatives will continue to call on you however,
please feel free to let us know if you would prefer them not to
visit and they can check-in with you via phone. We are also being
led by customers on particular instructions for our drivers if you
want to meet them at the door of your premises.
As I said, the situation is under continual review and we will
communicate with you should there be any major change.
